During my last visit to the south of France, I had the opportunity to work again with Bruno Chiappe, a talented photographer from Marseille. While we were looking for an atypical location to match the Vintage look chosen for this shoot, he suggested the idea of doing the editorial in an emblematic place in his city : La Cité Radieuse, also known as « La Maison du Fada » (the house of the crazy man). La Cité Radieuse is a housing unit that has everything to surprise. It’s a concept that plays with lights, perspectives, colors… a true source of inspiration. Much more than a set of apartments, it is an architectural work in itself, creative and avant-garde. This new and modern 20th century building is above all in line with the architect's (Le Corbusier) desire to offer well-being and comfort on a daily basis to all the unit's residents. La Cité Radieuse by Le Corbusier reflects a functional conception of housing and manifests the rejection of the traditional city. His objective was to allow all daily needs to be carried out within the building itself. In short, make this location a self-sufficient place, that is, offering everything or almost everything we need (hairdresser, restaurant, shops, school...). For this editorial, I invite you to go back with me to Marseille in the 1950s. In a vintage and colorful look, we will bring color to this black and white past.
